Logging In
To use one or more of the collections, you either need to have registered with Microform Academic Publishers for an individual customer account and password, or else you must be affiliated to an institution that has a licence to access them.
If you are an affiliated user, please ensure that you are logged in from a registered terminal on campus. Alternatively, if you wish to view the collections off-campus or to make use of the favourites feature, click the 'Sign In' button in the top-right of your screen to log in, or click
here. (Affiliated users can request an end-user login and password from their institution's Account Administrator, whose email appears via the link on the bottom right of the home page.)

Search & Browse Options
Once you are logged in, you can select either the
'Advanced Search' link in the menu, or 'Start'
in the navigation bar to access the Advanced Search page. Enter your search or series criteria here, and select
any of the filter options. You can also perform a quick search
of the archive by entering up to five keywords in the menu search field.

Structure of the CPGB Archive Collections
Each series is divided up into files containing groups of related documents, which in turn are made up of images, thereby replicating the archival structure of the original papers. In order to simplify your searches, the collection can be browsed by series as well as searched for using keywords and dates in the title, description, creator and coverage fields.

Navigation
The black navigation bar directly beneath the main menu tracks your progress through the archive. You can jump back to any previous level in a collection by clicking on the item name in this bar

Help Screens
For more detailed information, click on the Help icon
that appears at each level on the right of the grey Browse bar. This will provide you with context-sensitive assistance.
Favourites
If you have logged in with an individual user name and password, the British Online Archives system allows you to designate up to five items as Favourites by clicking on the Add to Favourites icon , and then view or modify them by clicking on the Favourites icon on the top right of your browser window.
